THE FRENCH CIRCLE WILL COORDINATE
THE FOURTH ANNUAL ART AND CULTURE PROGRAM TO BE HELD IN

APRIL 2005. (Details Le Petit Journal)

French Conversation and French Culture

Le Cercle Francais (The French Circle) will sponsor classes in Conversational French and French Culture starting October 09 for 12 weeks. The New Format will use a new Text/Workbook “REPRISE” with a focus on French conversation and communication, using new techniques to motivate participants to use French in engaging meaningful situations. This is good news for new participants to the class and a good opportunity to start from chapter One.

The principal Work text is Reprise but Conversational French will continue to use the book by Simone Oudot and David Gobert for reference, dialogues, conversation exercises. The new publication REPRISE will be an excellent tool for our class of conversation and culture.

REPRISE is mostly Communication and Culture but also provides review and practice of all grammar topics. Reprise is organized in Communication chapters and Culture chapters which cover, History, Art, Music, Literature, Science and Technology of the French speaking World. Each culture chapter includes a short self-test of the material covered.

REPRISE bridges grammar and communication with emphasis on the authentic language use. It is practical, inviting and easy to use. It will help you increase your confidence in using French to express your own thoughts but also to comprehend those of French speakers and hopefully to communicate in both speech and writing in a wide variety of setting.

Maurice Arfi, President of the French Circle will be the instructor for fall 2004 and coordinator of the activities of the French Circle which will include Festival du Beaujolais Nouveau and participation and registration for one week 4th Annual Art and Culture program in April 2005. He will also assure the on-site coordination of the Cultural programs.

REGISTRATION IS OPEN. For more information on the French Circle call today 608-8195 to discuss details about this exclusive cultural program allowing you to feel confident in expressing yourself in French.

Classes will be conducted at the East Lyme Public Library, East Lyme Room each Saturday morning from 10:15 am to 12:15 pm, starting October 09, 2004 for 12 weeks. Seating is limited to 12 participants.

Please confirm your participation early as we must place the order for the books and workbooks immediately so that you can have the books available on the first day of the Class.
